Interesting topic for a post. We are just finalising details for teachmeet falkirk, and the round table discussion idea was mooted. Don't think there will be time to do it but I like the TED idea. I watch them for Architecture and design etc

Outstanding work Drew,
Thank you for taking a lead on this. I agree that three teachmeets back to back would be ill-advised, and whilst there's a place for the nano presentations, the bar camp format allows a more dialogue and participation. Lots of high quality education content on TED, so it shouldn't be too hard finding something that works.
Engaging with teachers beyond the usual suspects would be lovely, and perhaps EMAP would be happy to spread the word and get a few more folk to join in and help out at this stage as well as for the events, so that these might reflect a broad spectrum of views and experience.
Well done!

Drew

Thanks for the excellent work you have put in on this, your ideas are inspirational and with the short time between now and BETT an excellent platform to build on.

So where do I sign up?

Well Done

Hi - I've had similar experiences of using Twitter to get things done. I recently blogged about it all: http://kendallcopywriting.co.uk/2009/01/07/why-twitter-method-in-the-mayhem/

Looking forward to the further details of how you were deluged with offers of support. Wow! Fancy lending a hand soon to do the same for TeachMeet MIdlands, which I've been organising with Tom Barrett?

Hi Drew

Good to see you're still alive and kicking. Topologika is, just. Times is tough for we wee still-indie software houses - and for most of the big guys, methinks - so anything you can do to channel people to our web site would be appreciated.

Good to see you're a Dylan fan - me too. Last weekend my wife and I bought the He's Not There film DVD which was excellent. We saw Dylan in Spain four years ago at an outdoor concert, where he insisted that all the big screens be turned off and said that if anyone took a flash picture he'd walk off the stage. They did but he didn't - instead he just turned his back on the audience and played with his band as if he was in a small bar - excellent.

Well, if you're still teaching, keep at it, and if you're not, hope you don;t miss it too much. I still do, sometimes.

Best wishes

Brian Kerslake
